Prime 3 really shook up the Metroid franchise with one simple addition: other good-aligned characters beside Samus. These include three other bounty hunters: Ghor, a mostly mechanical cyborg (General Grievous, anybody?) who can interact with most technology; Gandrayda, an obnoxious shape-shifting jerk; and the coolest one of all *rimshot*, Rundas.
You first meet him during the briefing above the planet Norian, and again on the surface once you are dispatched there. He even saves you from a freefall after you've defeated Meta Ridley in the generator shaft. He, like the rest of the bounty hunters, is infected by Dark Samus' Phazon and later gets fully corrupted, becoming her slave.
This causes him to attack you when you encounter him on planet Bryyo, where you are forced to take on the frosty warrior. This battle is fast paced, as he can move quickly thanks to his ice sliding and catch you off guard. He also has some of the best music for a boss fight; I'll include a link at the end of the post. Check it out.
Unfortunately, Rundas is killed when Dark Samus forces him to impale himself with his own icicles. Just before that, he seems to regain his senses temporarily, as he looks around confusedly and appears to recognize Samus as his comrade.
I feel that it's a shame we didn't get to see more of this guy. Ghor was ok, and I can't stand Gandrayda, but Rundas was a great character. Maybe someday they'll add him in Smash Bros. We need more Metroid characters anyway.
7) Meta Ridley (Metroid Prime)
Meta Ridley was such a fun fight in this game. It was cool to bring all of those Chozo glyph things to the cool looking shrine, and what happens? You get attacked by a huge metal dragon. That sounds fun! But none the less this fight is fun, and challenging, as you run back and forth around this round platform as a metal dragon swoops down on you.
