Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (with a cameo in A New Hope's Special Edition)
If you seriously didn't see this one coming, you've obviously never met me. I've been a Fett fan since I saw him amidst the other bounty hunters the first time I watched Empire. Like most folks, it was his cool demeanor and sweet armor that made this character neat, and like his father Jango in my #7 pick, I wanted to know more about him.
First and foremost, fans wasted no time getting Fett out of the Sarlaac pit, having him survive and literally blow his way free. From there he goes on to lead the Mandalorians (following in his father's footsteps) during the Yuuzhan Vong invasion and Darth Caedus' reign, even teaching Jaina Solo Mandalorian combat techniques to defeat her twin brother. He finally makes peace with both his former rival Han Solo and his granddaughter Mirta, as he had left his wife and daughter behind so as to not endanger them with his career.
And like in the movies, Fett's arsenal is one of the main reasons he's so cool. For starters, he's got one of (if not the) coolest starships in all of Star Wars, Slave I. More awesomely, however, is his iconic Mandalorian armor. The sweet helmet, a jetpack, and dozens of hidden weapons makes any fight featuring Boba an epic one.
While there's no denying that Darth Vader is the best Star Wars character ever created, Boba Fett has been my favorite since I was a kid. And now that Disney has confirmed his escape, I'm looking forward to what they have in store for the most notorious bounty hunter in the galaxy.
"Join me and together we can rule the galaxy as father and son."
Darth Vader is the greatest Sith in the Star Wars universe. I'm not talking about whiny Anakin Skywalker, but the Sith that is Darth Vader. He is one of the most powerful Jedi that ever lived, and then he turned. We see that he is capable of defeating the emperor, who is one of the baddest and smartest Sith out there.
Darth Vader in the beginning of the films is ruthless. He's willing to kill anyone that gets in his way, and will do whatever it takes to have full control of every system in the galaxy. But by the end he realizes that all he has done is a mistake, and ultimately dies as a hero.
Watching Vader turn from this evil Sith to someone who can't bear to watch his son killed is a great journey to watch. If Vader isn't the coolest and best character in Star Wars I don't know who is.
Any other answer here is just wrong. More wrong than some moron picking Greedo as number 2. Darth Vader is my favorite fictional character of all time. His design is unbeatable, his voice is commanding, his presence is intimidating and his force powers are overwhelming. Vader is an icon and embodies everything awesome about Star Wars.
