Episode I: The Phantom Menace (Maul)/Episode II: Attack of the Clones (Jango)/Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (Grievous)
Cue the "Three? That's cheating!" from my fellow MTN members. My blog, my rules. Anyway...
The reason I chose these three characters as one entry is because they all serve a similar purpose, and they all left me wanting to know more about them.
There was no question that I was going to like Jango Fett, as his son Boba is one of my absolute favorite characters for any franchise. He brought to the big screen many of things we only saw Boba do in EU material; such as utilizing his flamethrower, rockets, and even killing a Jedi or two with barely any effort. The game Bounty Hunter (as I mentioned in my top SW games) gives us a cool interactive backstory for the Mandalorian warrior.
Last but not least, General Grievous. I had just finished the Clone Wars cartoon right before RotS came out, so I had seen why the cyborg commander was capable of. Managing to fend off five or six Jedi at a time was something I had never seen before in Star Wars, and I was ecstatic. The matchup between him and Obi-Wan, although short, was one of my favorite parts of the film, and I feel he ranks up there as one of the series' greatest villains. I'll post a link to the Jedi fight I mentioned earlier.
"And now young Skywalker......you will die"
The emperor is one of the most evil characters that you can meet in the Star Wars universe. He kills his master, messes with people's minds so much that they do things they never thought they would, and is willing to kill those closest to him just to be more powerful. All of these things are reasons he makes my top 10 list.
The emperor is brilliant, which can be seen in the prequels where he has this master plan and executes it to perfection in order to take control of the empire. Watching all of this unfold is great to watch, and makes me appreciate the emperor for his planning skills, and his patients to watch all of this unfold.
The Star wars universe would not be the same without him, and that's why he comes in at number 7.
Lower on my list than most would probably put him, Darth Maul. Like Boba Fett, he looks cool. However, unlike Boba Fett he backs it up those looks with actions. He has the best lightsaber battles out of all the movies. I would have loved to seen his story played out in more movies.
